Alexander C Lewis

Alexander is a Early Career Victorian Cancer Agency Fellow working at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in the Kats Lab. He is interested in studying leukemia cell metabolism and how it can be leveraged for novel drug targets. His work targeting leukemia cell metabolism has been published across a number of high impact journals including EMBO Molecular Medicine and Blood. His most recent work published in Cell, describes heme depletion as the first physiological trigger of cuproptosis, a largely uncharacterised form of copper dependent cell death.
